4. Following is the marks of 20 students on a Stat. Course:
41, 42, 28, 40, 30, 36, 37, 33, 40, 32, 35, 35, 34, 30, 37, 25, 26, 50, 48, 36.
a) Find the mean, median, standard deviation, and inter-quartile range for the above grades.
b) The initial marks are out of 50. Calculate the measures in part a if the grades are rescaled to be out of 100.
c) What do you conclude from your results in parts b and c?
5. A statistics teacher is wondering whether there is a relationship between the marks of students on the midterm and final exams. The marks are given below.
a) Create a scatter diagram of the two data sets, measuring the marks on the Final on the vertical axis.
b) Calculate the appropriate measure of association for these data, and comment about the relationship, if any.
