The purpose of this assignment is to help you identify the business needs for which systems projects are undertaken and develop requirements and specifications for
systems analysts. Refer to the materials in module 1 (1. Introduction to Systems Analysis and design) when working on this assignment.
Business Need: Identify a business need that requires a systems solution. This should be in the form of short statements that identify the primary business need for
which a new systems analysis project is being requested.
Problem Statement: Provide a more detailed description of the problem that the proposed solution is intended to solve. Provide a general description of the environment
including the nature of the industry and the organization that leads to an identification of the need that the proposed system must serve.
Functionality: Provide a list of the primary functionality that the proposed system must provide.
Value: Explain how the functionality will meet solve the problem in the problem statement and meet the business need and provide value to the organization as
identified in the business need statement.
Constraints or Scope: Identify any constraints (in terms of specific technology, competitive environment) and to the best of your ability delineate the scope of the
proposed system by identifying what it DOES NOT need to do.
