Final Paper Assignment
The final paper will expand upon ayour previous formal analysis assignment, using further research to write an Analytical Essay OR an Analytical Comparison. (See pp.
51-74 in TAOWAA for guidelines and information.)
Your paper must include the following elements and qualities:
o Introduction/Lead-in: Introduce and contextualize the topic; state the thesis or main idea of the paper.
o Thesis Statement: A statement (often the last sentence of the first paragraph) that sums up in a general way the main point or argument of your paper.
o Formal Analysis and Description: As with your first paper, you should describe, discuss, and analyze specific works of art in order to demonstrate or argue
your thesis.
o Conclusion: Sum up the argument/thesis
o Citations and Bibliography: Include at least 3 library sources (books, journals, or online scholarly sources from the Library databases—general internet
articles and Wikipedia do not count.) Citations and bibliography must follow the Chicago Manual of Style system described on TAOWAA, pp. 127-133)
o Length and Format: 8 pages in length; Double-spaced; typed in 12 point Times or Times New Roman font.
