Anagram Experiment
We test if the subjects will scramble last anagram pea or ape by categorize the other anagrams on the list.
Subjects: 2 students. One of them is a female, student who is 21 years old. The other one is a 25 year old male, who is a program assistant.
Materials: Two different anagram lists. First list has scrambled 8 words. (The two list which are done by the the two subjects are attached as additional materials.)
In addition to the anagrams , on each list there are spaces for the subject to fill out labeled age,sex and occupation.
Procedure:Collect data from only one subject at a time. Each subjects get one list. Read the following instructions to each subject ‘Please attempt to unscramble the
anagrams shown on the sheet. Each anagram can be solved with an English word. Do not use abbreviations or proper names. Please solve the anagrams in order from the top
to bottom’. When you are finished ask if they have any questions. If there are none, give the subject the anagram list with all but the first anagram covered. Uncover
remaining anagrams one at a time as the subject solves them. If further help is needed give the subject the first letter of the anagram.
The lab report should have a title page. Five items appear on the title page. The title should give the reader a general indication of what you did, what variables
were manipulated, what was measured.
Part 1 ABSTRACT
Should be limited 120 words, and provides the reader with an overview of the entire article. It contains statements of 1) the problem, 2) the method, 3) the results,
and 4) the conclusion.
PART 2 METHOD
It begins with a centered bolded heading following by three subsections; Subject, Apparatus(or Materials) and Procedure.Each will be bolded left heading.
Subject
This section describes the sample and how subjects were selected. It should contain the number of subjects and any characteristics that need to be identified.
Apparatus (Materials)
This section should be limited to a description of the major pieces of apparatus used.
Procedure
All the details of collecting a data should be described here. This is a really important section the reader should understand exactly what was done in the experiment.
PART 3 RESULTS
Contains the presentation of the data. Such presentations are in the form of tables, figures(graphs) and verbal statements of the results. Use statistics.
PART 4 DISCUSSION
The primary purpose of the discussion section is to relate the findings to the problem investigated and to previous findings. Generally the introduction and method
sections should be in past tense, in the Results and Discussion sections should be present tense.
