Immersion Experience

The immersion experience is intended to allow students to get to know, and experience the world of, a person or group with which the student is unfamiliar with and/or
feel personally challenged, such as ethnicity, ableness, sexual orientation, religion, etc. and seek opportunities to grow and to learn more about persons within that
area. Students will engage in a community activity with individuals or groups that are significantly different from themselves in the specific area of challenge. This
experience must permit the student to be a participant/observer. Students must interact directly with the individual/group/organization in a meaningful way. It is of
utmost importance that this be done with sensitivity, respect, and concern for the chosen person or group.
