Order Instructions:
Prepare a 10-page draft template of an Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP). To develop your plan, select a city/state/region or business and cater the EPP towards a WMD, All Hazards, or any other potential mass casualty inducing event of your choice.
Your EPP template should contain an outline of the eight topics needed for a complete EPP. In your outline, provide short explanations for each section or bullet points detailing the important objectives of the sections. Include how each of the 8 topics needed for a complete EPP fits into the following formats:
1. Functional format
2. Emergency-Support Function format
3. Agency/Department-Focused format
4. Any other approved format style outlined in the course material
Analyze one of the above listed EPP formats and determine if your template is tailored to the selected jurisdiction’s geographic, political, and social environment. Address the following concerns as they relate to your template.
1. The resulting plan represents the jurisdiction’s unique hazard and threat situation by ensuring that the underlying facts and assumptions that drove the template’s content match those applicable to the jurisdiction.
2. The hazard and risk assessments match the jurisdiction’s demographics, infrastructure inventory, probability of hazard occurrence, etc.
3. The template identifies the resources needed to address the problems generated by an emergency or disaster only in a general way.
4. Using the template may stifle creativity and flexibility, thereby constraining the development of strategies and tactics needed to solve disaster problems.
Also provide feedback on the benefits of teamwork vs. allowing a single individual to “write” the plan
