Conduct a review of several research studies and evaluate the approaches taken.
Requires a literature review related to your research project idea, which includes a critique of methods and methodological approaches to the research.
My advpcacy issue: „High teacher turnover rates and lack of enthusiastic and passionate kindergarten teachers”. How to hire, recognize and keep passionate and enthusiastic teachers in kindergartens?
For example: (not good examples though)
• Various research methods can be used to gather data and information from the targeted audience (managers, teachers, government, teachers unions)
• Interviews will be needed for kindergarten managers
• Specific questions asked during the interview will aid in determining the level of turnover and performance among students.
• Surveys and polls can be used to draw government attention to critical issues. These issues could be adequate comprehension for teachers and allocation of resources for students.
• Information can be collected from teachers through out-group discussions.
To prepare:
 Consider several ideas for research topics that align with your professional interests. Refine a list of 2 or 3 topics that you will investigate further.
– how to recognise and keep passionate teachers, methods for finding good teachers in hiring process
– expectations for the teachers from different view points – teachers to teachers, managers to teachers, parents to teachers etc. In private and in public kindergartens
– methods for making good groups of teaches who would be working well together
– motovating teachers and helping them to settle in with the new environment and child led approach

 Choose one topic for the purposes of this Assignment. Search for published research studies on your topic. Read several articles to get a feel for the range of methodological approaches.
 Choose two research articles to analyse for this Assignment.

To complete:
 analyse and evaluate the research approaches taken in the research articles.
 evaluate the research approaches taken based on how well they meet the researcher’s stated goals.
 Critically analyse the effects of methodological choices on the research findings, discuss any ethical considerations the researchers faced in their studies and the effects of ethical considerations on methodologies, if this is evident from the articles.
 Provide a brief summary of what you learned from this evaluation that you might apply in your own research planning.
 Be sure to include references to all sources, including your Readings, in Harvard Referencing Style.
