risk assessment and risk management plan

Based on an organisation you are familiar with (preferably your current or a recent employer) please undertake the following tasks. If you are unable to use a workplace organisation then you may use a club, society or other association providing that you are able to identify a suitable risk and can apply the principles covered in the module to its analysis and management planningPart 2 – Report (maximum 3000 words) Drawing on what you have learnt in Module 2 please present a report that encompasses a risk assessment and risk management plan. Following the guidance below and addressing each of the areas mentioned, the report should outline ONE risk/safety issue present in your chosen organisation, the extent of the risk/safety issue, the impact it may have and what should be done to mitigate this. Remember to ensure you have a sufficiently narrow focus to ensure your report has suitable depth and detail. So, as an example please do not choose ‘terrorism’ as your risk as this is far too broad to cover sufficiently. Consider instead one specific type of terrorism risk or terrorism risk to a particular part of the organisation, for example. Some areas will require more discussion than others. You may wish to use the guidance to structure your assignments to ensure you have addressed all of the aspects required.Your report should include:a brief introduction to your organisation
a brief description and discussion of a significant risk/safety issue (and vulnerability) faced by it
consideration of the possible business impacts and continuity issues that might arise if the risk materialises (duration, extent, etc)
a scoring of risk importance based on numeric weightings of probability and impact
an explanation of the methods you used to quantify the risk with a brief critique of their effectiveness
a description and justification of your suggested management of this risk
an explanation of how the organisational characteristics (eg culture and structure) influence the strategy you have selected
You may be very experienced in writing reports for the workplace. However, for the purposes of this assignment, please note that an academic report MUST – where necessary and appropriate – include discussion and argument and is not simply a factual report. You should support your analysis by applying concepts and theories from the module and other academic resources to your selected topics. Aim to be critical; avoid simply describing what the organisation does. Similar to an essay, all information sources used should be cited and referenced, paying particular attention to the clear identification and acknowledgement of any directly quoted material.
