Overview of unit and project design
Assessment One: This assessment has two parts to it. Part 1, using this Unit as your ‘project’ this assessment is to introduce you to be a ‘project manager.’ Using the traditional methodology for project management raised in Week 1, each student will develop a brief overview of the project using the following key disciplines:
1 Planning
2 Scope
3 Requirements
4 Time/Schedule
5 Costs
6 Resources
7 Communications
8 Logistics
9 Procurement
10 Quality
11 Risk
12 Integration
13 Change control
14 Ethics
15 Governance
**If there are elements that you do not think fit the project – then please give a
ONE sentence explanation as to why then move on to the
next element.** Whilst project management is considered unique and a one off project – life also
is a project which needs managing. Meaning, the semester is a challenge for all
as our lives are busy and now university study is to be included and completed.
As such, organisation is key to success – timing, cost, risk management, quality
outcomes, procurement of resource materials, ethics and communication are vital
elements to achieve a desired outcome so for this to happen one must organise
the next 13 weeks. Part 2 to the assessment is organizing a meeting with a fellow student and critiquing and giving useful feedback on their project plan. In addition, to keeping ‘minutes of that meeting’ and sending them through to the lecturer. This plan overview is to be no more than 2 pages.
