The question is: LOL is supposed to be an abbreviation for “laugh out loud”. But when someone types LOL, they’re not really laughing. LOL seems to mean something else. But what?
Collect a corpus of LOLs. (Make sure you observe appropriate anonymity. Don’t use Facebook posts unless they’re set to “Public”. Blur or obscure names. Twitter is always ne.)
