The Alternate Truck Route (ATR) Bypass project
General Project Description
The Alternate Truck Route (ATR) Bypass project includes 1.6 miles of
new four
lane roadway around the City of Delta. However, due to
funding constraints, it is anticipated that only 2
lanes can be currently
constructed.
The successful contractor will be expected to help
identify project cost savings that will enable the City to construct as
much of the 4
lane section as possible within the project budget. The
new roadway will improve safety and mobility by providing an
al
ternate route, away from the heart of downtown Delta, for the
numerous trucks traveling through the area. The project will include
the construction of three new precast concrete girder bridge
structures, 2 track miles of rail relocation, Building
removal/d
emolition, 5 new traffic signals, storm sewer systems, and
utility relocation. The contractor is expected to work with the City of
Delta to maintain the traffic and pedestrian access.
