visit http://www.nij.gov/funding/welcome.htm. This is the funding website for the National Institute of Justice, the government agency that funds research most relevant to our concerns. Your job is to familiarize yourself with this website, including most particularly the process of grant applications. Notice the sidebars, which lead you further into specific aspects of the website, including FAQ’s, Application Guidelines, different Funding Opportunities, etc. Be certain to read the "Sample Applications" section, including at least one of the sample applications that appears on the site. You might also want to visit www.grants.gov, which is the "mother of all grant sites" for the federal government. The FIRST question is to discuss some aspect of the government funding process; complaints about its complexity are assumed.
