Details of Assessment Item 2: A review of the literature pertaining to the issue being researched, including an explanation of the extent to which the proposed research is likely to contribute to knowledge in the field of research.
Task Description-
Literature review. A range of sources is presented relevant to justifying and framing the intended study. Perspectives from sources are synthesized into coherent arguments. Clear arguments are developed from the literature to justify the research purpose and research problem (see Assessment Item 1). Identified the major research traditions (including theoretical and philosophical traditions) and scholars in the field of research pertaining to the intended study. Limitations to existing understandings about the research topic are argued convincingly through analysis of the literature. Articulated the extent to which the proposed study will contribute to the field of research by addressing limitations of previous studies or by identifying a gap in the available literature. Restated research purpose by demonstrating how the purpose emerges clearly from limitations or gaps in existing knowledge within the field of research.
Mechanics of style. Essay is written in appropriate scholarly genre. American Psychological Association (APA) 6 guidelines followed throughout document including referencing.
