Opening Moves
Re: CreatureComforts Biannual Report, January 1–July 1 2009
This memo presents a 6-month view of the status of our pet sitting business – the
households and creatures served, the staffing requirements, the financial breakdown, and
the potential changes needed. As we move into the next half of the year, we can use this
information to plan an effective strategy for the coming months. As the data here reveal,
our business is growing well so far, but we may want to consider adding staff and new
services to further expand the business.
Closing Moves
In summary, the business is doing quite well. Our net profit continues to grow,
and you and I are still only working at this business on a very part-time basis. I believe
that we should ramp up our capacity to take on additional clients. Also, we may want to
investigate some value-add services such as a per household blog with daily updates that
might take minimal effort on our part but allow us to increase our rates some so that we
can make more of a profit per household served. You and I have a meeting scheduled for
next week, June July 10th at 8:00 am to discuss this in more detail. I look forward to
seeing what we can create to move this exciting business forward to the next level. We’re
off to such a great start!
