Various population around the world Eleven out of twelve pediatric nephrology centers in Poland
took part in the study. The study was performed amongst patients and their parent/proxies from Sept to
December of 2011. Participants included children over 2years of age, with stage II of CKD who were

outcome of this study was to help gain insights on the impact of CKD on the functional health condition
of children and to determine when and how to help CKD patients improve their quality of life.
The study concluded that the HRQoL in children with CKD is less than in children who are healthy. As
indicated it is more notable at the early stage of the disease. Also children are usually overcome by
the effects of the disease itself, therefore making it difficult for them to participate in their care.
patients with CKD had lower satisfaction about their health.

lll Evaluation of the intervention of this research can help gain insight as to how best
we can care for children with CKD. The study indicated that, lack of significant differences in
perception of emotional functioning influence the disease. Intervention such as providing psychological
help is necessary.
The methodologies defined in this study provided a useful outline that can help patients live a healthy
life style.
