3. Review Week 8 lecture notes and associated readings and identify the critical factors and important issues relating to police legitimacy. • What is police
legitimacy? • Why is police legitimacy essential for policing? • What can occur in terms of police-community relations if police legitimacy is not achieved?

4. As you review the materials from your three chosen policing topics, take notes on the importance of these topics for policing within our community. • Why is each
chosen topic important for effective policing? • How does each chosen topic contribute to the legitimacy of police within our community?

5. Begin writing your review essay 1) Introduce your work, including  An overview of your approach to the topic, including identifying each of the chosen 3 topics
 An outline of the key issues relating to each of the chosen 3 topics 2) Provide a critical discussion of the literature relating to police legitimacy (see your
notes from step 3) 3) Provide a critical discussion of the importance of your chosen 3 topics for effective policing and the contribution each makes to the legitimacy
of police within our community (see notes from step 4) 4) Conclude your work with a summary of the key points identified in your essay, with particularly reference to
your findings from step 4
