Challenges facing human rights practitioners vary depending on the type of organisation they are working in (for example, local non-government organisation (NGO), government department, international NGOs), the human rights issue/s that is the focus of their work, the type of work the organisation does (for example, advocacy, policy, field-work, campaign work), the socio-political context, one’s life experience and so on. In a 2000 word essay, critically explore at least four challenges involved in human rights practice that resonate with you, by drawing on relevant academic literature

The short paper has an introduction that outlines its purpose and structures. The main body consists of structured, coherent paragraphs. A conclusion summarises the content of the main body and states the paper’s overall argument. X
Literacy
The short paper communicates its content via key points clearly and concisely. Expression, grammar, punctuation and spelling are used appropriately and accurately. X
Referencing Style
The chosen referencing style is consistent and provides all necessary publishing details. The chosen references indicate the appropriate inclusion of relevant scholarship. A minimum of three academic sources (journal articles or book chapters) are used and provided. X
Length
The word count is 2000 words X
The essay achieves its aim in a satisfactory manner. It provides a clear intention and pursues this via an appropriate structure. The four challenges are discussed in a way that provides the reader with a basic introduction to their meaning and how they relate to human rights practices. Expanding your consideration of the available literature as well as using concrete examples to illustrate each challenge would enhance the discussion of the significance of these challenges. This would enable you to discuss more critically how human rights practitioners respond both positively and negatively to challenges and shape their results.
