Below are the guidelines and grading rubric for the paper. I tried to clarify what she meant by brief and her reply was this:
Hello –
When looking at the rubric, note the entire assignment is 50% of the course grade. When scoring, I base it on the rubric which looks at quality, not quantity. I prefer a couple of pages with strong statements supporting your presentation on the topic rather than 5 pages of garble just filling up the pages.
So I am thinking 2-3 pages would work. There is no need for a cover page, but it does need to be in APA format with references.

NUR 450 Issues Paper and Discussion Presentation
• When it is your week to turn to present your discussion paper, you will take the following steps:
o Post Online Resources & References in Discussion Board in D2L Course – each student will post at least three key online resources & references pertaining to their topic chosen using correct APA style and URL links to the online article or source. Test links to ensure connection. All classmates will read student’s resources for the week. (DUE- first day of assigned week of presentation).

Grading Rubric
Overview: Each student will research a specific topic of a current trend or issue in professional nursing or healthcare and present the information in keeping with the topic on the course calendar.
Instructions:
• The presentation should be in discussion style although may include relevant links throughout the presentation.
• The individual will prepare a present a brief summary with highlights from readings and other sources in a Word document and save the Word document with the individual student names and topic-focus area. This Word document serves two purposes:
o It is uploaded to the “Issues paper” dropbox for grading by the instructor using the criteria below – NOTE: the dropbox document is the basis of the 60 points,
o It is copied and pasted onto the Discussion Board as the basis of the week’s discussion.
