PART A: Essay Plan, 5%
Due Date: In the seminar of week 4, beginning 14 August
Your task in a research essay is to investigate a specific topic in detail. Drawing on primary and secondary research, you are required to construct an argument in
answer to a question about your topic. Students are required to design their own essay question on an aspect of the Australian war experience or memory, related
to WW1 or WW2. Please plan out a question that is not to broad about Australians at war. You then need to plan out how you will address your question, in
approximately 200 words.
PART B: Annotated Bibliography, 5%
Due Date: In the seminar of week 4, beginning 14 August
This must include the key readings you expect to utilise in writing your research essay, probably three or four. It should also identify the primary source material
you expect to interrogate or use to illustrate your thesis. An annotated bibliography incorporates an assessment of the material, meaning you will need to read the
various items and make a summary of approximately 100 words on each one
