Introduction

What really separates the women from the girls, the men from the boys, and the Blue Hens from the little chickies is the ability to write a strong and persuasive
justification for an engineering design problem. You’ve had a bit of practice with this with User Centered Research in Project #1, but we haven’t pushed you until now
to pull in background research from primary sources to justify your design problem and potential solution.

Well, there’s no time like the present! In this activity, you are going to motivate and justify the development of an engineering solution to the Wicked Problem of
trypanophobia (fear of needles) in Healthcare. Use the 4-paragraph essay format that we discussed in class, with the following paragraph topics: (1) The Big Problem;
(2) Existing Solutions; (3) The Gap; and (4) Project Scope. Perform background research and cite only credibly, primary sources in your essay.

Write a 4-paragraph essay justifying the need for engineering design addressing fear of needles, or trypanophobia.

Your essay should be between 500-800 words, 12 pt font, standard margins & formatting.
