You are a consultant working for an educational consulting group. You are assigned to assist a high school in its efforts to align classroom instruction, textbooks,
and assessments with the school district’s curriculum. The school’s assessment methods include standardized tests and other teacher-made assessments.Select the level
of school: high school.For this present project, select the 12th grade level and the subject area is English to assist and make recommendations.Your project will
consist of a report, in APA format, given to the principal that describes these recommendations.
The recommendations will include an action plan that describes how the teachers, a possible department head, and the principal will perform curriculum alignment. You
do not need to produce an aligned document or provide evidence of the state’s standards.
It may help to find Mississippi State standards for the 12th grade and English subject area for specific examples of how these classes may be aligned.
Your report should address most of the following tasks:
Map the local school curriculum against state curriculum content.
Identify the school curriculum objectives and assess their alignment with Bloom’s Taxonomy, measurable verbs, and the ABCD objective writing method.
Conduct a thorough gap analysis by teacher, grade, subject, and possibly the entire school.
Map the taught curriculum against the school calendar year.
Discuss how to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Track school performance against standards.
Monitor changes in instructional practice at the school and the effects on student performance.
Identify professional development needs.
Demonstrate how alignment will allow principals to monitor instruction (accountability).
Explain how alignment promotes collaboration among teachers.
Consider vertical alignment and horizontal alignment.
In addition, mention in your recommendations how the school will consult with and advise all stakeholders including parents, the school board, students, and the local
