2.) During a Superbowl commercial, a hotel designer knows that everyone goes to the
bathroom and flushes the toilet at the same time. This huge flow of water can damage pipes so
they decide to electronically prevent the toilets from flushing simultaneously. Design a circuit
which has three inputs, one from each toilet, F1 = 1 when toilet 1 is flushing, 0 when not
flushing. F2 from toilet 2, etc. It also has one output, X, which goes to all toilets. When X is 0,
the toilet can be flushed. If X = 1, the toilet cannot be flushed (if it is not already flushing). If
two toilets are flushing, prevent the third from being flushed. Complete the truth table below
and draw a schematic.

3.) An automobile designer wants to ensure that passengers use their seatbelts. You are to
design a digital circuit which turns on an alarm when the ignition is on, and the gear shift is
engaged, provided that either of the front seats is occupied and the corresponding seatbelt is
not fastened. The inputs are:
I = 1 if the ignition is on
G = 1 if the gear shift is in drive
SL and SR = 1 if there is a passenger sitting in the right seat (SR) or left seat (SL)
respectively.
BL and BR = 1 if the seatbelt is fastened in the right seat (BR) or left seat (BL)
respectively.
A is an output which = 1 when the alarm is to sound.
Are there any assumptions you can make which might simplify your circuit?
