Overview
This session will discuss and analyze legal issues associated with secure teleworking, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) introduction, portable storage devices and cloud computing.
Objectives
1. Session objective 1: evaluate, draft and supervise telework policy including employee training and participation. Implement effective telecommuting contracts with employees.
2. Session objective 2: determine and impose requirements on company access and user-owned wireless computing devices to avoid “the weakest link” security threats.
3. Session objective 3: evaluate the relevant benefits of cloud computing as compared to portable and permanent storage devices in terms of confidentiality, integrity and accessibility, to select the right mix for a given organization’s needs.
4. Course objective 1: evaluate the governance processes required of the statutes and regulations pertaining to information assurance such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Sarbanes – Oxley Act and apply to a specific enterprise.
5. Course objective 2: analyze and evaluate proposed or extant information security policies, practices and procedures in order to assess, in concert with their organization’s legal representatives and advisors, potential ethical and legal liabilities that might flow from implementing them.
