Order Description

You are asked to prepare an infographic representing what you learned from this class and any additional resources you have encountered on this topic. The infographic assignment is an exercise demonstrating your ability to comprehend, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate the module in a visual format.

Infographic assignment topics:

Select a debatable topic from the topics taught in advertising and society. Your infographic assignment will provide information to the general public by addressing both of the points to the question and stating your position and arguments. Pardun (2013)’s Advertising and Society: an introduction is a great resource for you to work on this assignment. You can find the free online ebook at lib.msu.edu.

Examples of the topics may include (but are not limited to):
Advertising does more harm than good.
Should we ban fast food advertising to children under 12 years old?
Are Stereotypes in Advertising good or bad?
Is advertising responsible for excessive consumption/sexism/racial discrimination?
Is product placement/native advertising/sponsored content in entertainment media clever or deceptive?
Is food and beverage advergame an inappropriate or ethical advertising strategy?
Is behavior-targeting social media advertising an invasion of privacy?
Are advertising controversial products such as tobacco, alcohol unethical and should be strictly regulated?
Should we ban negative political advertising?

To bring clarity to that demonstration, your infographic should

Address one topic in advertising and society you choose
Provide an introduction of the topic or the problem
Discuss both sides of the coins (pros and cons)
Highlight any critiques you have and demonstrate your critical thinking
State which side of perspectives you agree
Provide your justification with evidence
Offer any additional personal thoughts you have of the material presented
