There are FIVE steps to the Informational Interview.
Step 1: Compile a list of individuals in your target career field whom you would like to interview. Try to identify people who are working at a company in which you
are interested. This is a good opportunity to practice your networking skills. Let your classmates, friends, family members, and colleagues know that you need to
complete an informational interview with someone in your intended career field. You’ll be amazed at how effective networking can be.

Step 2: Prepare a brief introduction of yourself and the purpose(s) of the informational interview. Prepare a list of open-ended questions that would be appropriate to
ask during the informational interview. An Internet search using “informational interview” will provide you with many examples of questions you might want to use.

Step 3: Practice your interview with a classmate, friend, family member, or colleague and ask them to critique your performance. Identify ways to improve based on
their feedback.

Step 4: Set up a day and time for the interview. Record the interviewee’s responses to your questions. Send a thank-you letter, note, or email to the interviewee
within two business days of completing the interview.

Step 5: Complete the table below and submit it in Week 8.

Question #1:
What are the duties/functions/responsibilities of your job? Response: Work in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer and V.P. Fiscal Affairs to develop
policies and procedures for the general operation of the Health Connect program and its related activities. Manages the day-to-day operations of the program and
ensures that contractual requirements are achieved.

Why did this type of work interest you, and how did you get started? Response: This type of work interests me because I had a passion to help people and to give
back to my community. I started in 1995 counseling and tutor foster children on behavioral issues and everyday living skills. Plan and supervise social and mental
enrichment activities on and off campus.

How did you get you job? Response: I applied, interviewed and was hired.
Question #4:
Why did you decide to work for this company? Response: I decide to work for the company because it was the first health agency in the state of Florida and third in
the nation. The people are very warm and seem very sincere.

Why do customers choose this company? Response: Customers choose this company because of the great customer service and customer loyalty. Also, the company offers
transportation to customers that do not have a way to get to there appointments.
Question #6:
How does the company make sure of technology for internal communication and outside marketing? Response: Internal communication on a daily basis is internal emails,
good verbal communication, huddles, memo’s, meetings, Internal emails. For external communication includes emails, brochures, advertisements on radio, television,
newsletter, posters and other forms of multimedia marketing designed to attract customers, partners and sponsors.

What kinds of decisions do you make? Response: Recruits and recommends hiring and dismissal of staff.

Do you find your job exciting or boring? Why? Response: I find my job very exciting. By helping people that are in need and see a smile on there faces is very
rewarding. What matter is touching people lives?
Question #9:
Can you suggest some ways a student could obtain this necessary experience? Response: Our company offers internship and volunteering to students so that they can
obtain the necessary experiences.
Question #10:
What does the company do to contribute to its employees’ professional development? Response: Our company is big in cross-training so this will give the employee
a chance to move up when there is a job opening. The company also enhance on the employee’s skills to optimize high performers. The company also develops training
plans for the overall organization and for individual’s employees on a yearly basis. The company also allocates resources to provide effective trainings.
The company has a rich milestone. What I learn about the company is as followed: The Jessie Trice Community Health Center, Inc. has been a trusted health care provider
in Miami-Dade County for greater than 46 years. JTCHC is one of the first comprehensive primary care health center’s of its kind in the nation and the first FQHC in
the state of Florida. Joint Commission ambulatory and behavioral health care accredited since 1999, all of the primary care centers have complete electronic health and
dental record capability. JTCHC has a proven history of operational excellence and received the first Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH) recognition in Florida
designated by the Joint Commission in 2011. Additionally, in 2012, JTCHC received PCMH level 3 designation for its five primary care sites from the National Committee
for Quality Assurance (NCQA). For more than forty years Jessie Trice has been part of the safety net that continues to make an impact on the health outcomes of this
community. The community is predominantly an urban-suburban population that includes the medically underserved, the working poor, uninsured and the underinsured.
Limited financial resources, cultural beliefs and ethnic factors, family structure instability, reliance on public transportation are all compound factors that have a
cumulative impact on access to care and unmet health needs.

This company has what I want in my career path. I can move up in the agency by acquiring the skills I need to transfer into the finance department as an accountant. I
think with me getting my bachelor degree and work on my master’s degree I can move up to my potential goal. I will gain all the experience needed. I am excited about
my future.
The interviewee career path. She knew what she wanted out of life and went for it. She did not allow lack of education or experience get in her way. She got her degree
and volunteer while in school to acquire the necessary experience needed. She did not want any barrier to hold her back. Her positivity draws me to do my best in
moving forward in my career path.

Jessie Trice Community Health Center has a culturally competent, multi-disciplinary and multi-lingual staff of 300+ medical professionals served a client base of more
than 34,000 individuals who made more than 111,000 visits to the center in 2014. The number of board certified medical, dental and behavioral health providers’ total
twenty seven. This includes specialists in podiatry, internists, psychiatrist, pediatricians, HIV specialists, gerontologists, nurse practitioners and obstetricians.
The organization owns and/or operates twenty-seven facilities, including eight comprehensive primary care centers, twenty one school based centers, a women’s
residential substance abuse facility and a corporate office. The Board of Directors and its President and CEO’s number one priority is to increase healthcare access to
the under-served and those who can least afford it. JTCHC’s ultimate goal is to eliminate all barriers to healthcare, thus improving the health of the overall
community.

The skills that I see the interviewee has acquired and that I need are strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, effective productivity habits, and
able to respond quickly and effectively in a drop of the hat. This was a great experience for me and will put what I learn into practice. I am very appreciative for
this assignment.
