Literary Field Study

Topic: Place- Hanging Rock, Victoria Book: Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay

For this assignment you need to investigate a ‘literary’ place. This could be a writer’s house, grave, garden, statue or a place that a writer has written about. This
place could be an ‘imaginary’ or invented place which has some connection with a ‘real-world’ topography.

The literary study will involve travel to the place, note-taking, documentation and potentially engagement with guides or other visitors. In your discussion of this
place you will need to reference texts from the course reading list as well as independently sourced texts.
