Numerous assessment researchers have identified critical points in the teaching and learning cycle as well as the role of assessment in each phase. To be an instructional leader one must articulate the teaching/learning/assessment cycle that best meets the needs of all learners. Candidates will identify and utilize 15-20 journal articles, books, and/or professional websites that address assessment. At the end of this research, candidates will write a paper that analyzes the instruction/assessment cycle that they feel best represents their own style and meets the needs of students (culturally, ability, etc). Follow the most current edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. The paper is to address the following:
1.Identify and explain critical points of the teaching/learning cycle.
2.Give examples of how a learning cycle best meet the needs of specific populations.
3.Support your recommendations/conclusions with examples from the professional literature as well as in practice. These may differ and are important to explain.
