Dissertation Title Assessing Knowledge-Based Approach in Managing Government Project in Kingdom of Bahrain

Please comment on (1) the quality of the quality of the draft dissertation with particular reference to plagiarism, literature review, methodology, analysis and conclusions; (2) the suitability of the dissertation for submission to the examination committee.

After reviewing the work done by Amina, below are the comments:

Main comments:
1. The work lacks sense of ordering, since no proper numbering method is used.
2. The structure of work is against the standards of the Ahlia university (e.g. format, font, spacing, title, subtitles, numbering, paragraph alignment, page numbering… etc)
3. There should be a single reference list at the end of the report
4. The student should add a conclusion chapter that includes conclusion, recommendation and further studies.
5. There is no sign of proofreading since many grammatical mistakes are found.
6. The student should add appendices showing the tools used in her statistical analysis (screenshots and formulas)

Abstract:
1. You can’t quote others work in the abstract
2. Keep your limit to one page only.
3. It is mentioned that KM has a great impact on government in Bahrain, please be more specific of what does KM affects in the government.
4. Give a brief of the results found in the study (you may add some numbers)

Introduction:
1. In your research questions, please write a paragraph before the questions stating the reason and ways you came with such questions
2. Relocate the literature review in the introduction to the second chapter, and the methodology to the third chapter
3. Under the methodology (should be relocated) the following should be considered:
• The students claimed to have charts and graphs, yet none is provided
• The student claimed to have research on companies that have conducted related projects in Bahrain, yet it is not provided.
• The student should clearly mention the statistical tools used, each and every one and why it was used
4. Please delete the time frame and work plan as this is only required at proposal stage.
5. Please add an organization of the study and state briefly what each chapter will contain

Literature review:
1. Under genetic algorithm
• The referencing is not proper, the student should review Harvard referencing style and learn how to use in-text referencing for more than one author.
• The work done by Becerra-Fernandez & Leidner in 2008 doesn’t refer to the kingdom of Bahrain, unlike what the student claims.
• The student didn’t show the relation between the genetic algorithm to the Bahraini government

2. Under risk management:
• The student at the end talked about the government of Bahrain with no relation to the risk management of the government, it is suggested that the student show an evidence on how the government manages risk in a knowledge based applications, instead of putting general information about KM importance.

3. The student should elaborate more on the real life examples of KM based applications used in the kingdom of Bahrain.
4. Add title to the last paragraph as literature summary, and make sure to include all information that are mentioned under previous subtitles briefly.

Research methodology:
1- Change the title to research methodology
2- Please rename the figures to include chapter number and full name (e.g. Figure 3.1 Proposed KM structure)
3- Please relocate the following:
From according to the proposed framework in page 27 till the end to the next chapter (the Chapter name should be Results and Analysis)
Discussion and recommendation should be under the Results and Analysis Chapter.
4- There is no sign of a survey work, as claimed in the first chapter

In general, the work done by Amina is not suitable for final submission and major work is pending
