SHORT WRITING TASK 2 – ME, MY PHONE AND THE WORLD

In no more than 800 words, write a reflection on how you use (or don’t use) your mobile phone, and how your interaction with and through it affects your way of being
in the world, i.e. how it shapes your relationships with others, with information and knowledge, how it links you to the global market and influences your sense of
time and space. You might contemplate how the use of these telecommunications technologies contribute to a notion of post-(or liquid)modernity, and how earlier
generations may have interacted differently without them. In order to gain an historical perspective on this you could ask older relatives and friends about how they
socialised and communicated with others, obtained information, entertained themselves, etc. before the telecommunications revolution.
