One new media technology (course – Strategic Communications
create an annotated bibliography for at least one new media technology. An organized list of sources is required, each of which is followed by a brief note or annotation.
The bibliography must contain:
A minimum of 7 trade publication articles.
A minimum of 7 scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
A minimum of 7 news magazine articles.
A minimum of 5 books.
A minimum of 15 websites.
News magazines include Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News and World Report; in media technology, more specialized magazines such as Rolling Stone and TV Guide are also acceptable.
Trade journals are industry-specific and are designed to update and inform the reader on current trends in an industry. Example publications on media include Variety, Broadcasting & Cable, The Hollywood Reporter, and MediaWeek.
Websites must be evaluated using the Evaluating Web Sites guidelines from Cornell University. The website for these guidelines may be found here.
All sources must be listed using current APA format. Each source listing must be followed by the annotation in the form of a coherent paragraph.
Each annotation must summarize the central theme and scope of the book or article, explain how this work illuminates your bibliography topic, and note the particular useful features of the work. Each annotation will be made up of 12 sentences for each of the points above, organized into a coherent paragraph. Each annotation will be 36 sentences total.
