Production,Display and Discourse
Write 1000 words speech
1. Presentation
The assessment for this module is based on a project model, which requires students to select and research a specific exhibition (contemporary or historical) and to assess the ways in which it is structured by the complex processes and interactions between production, display, and discourse.

Note: exhibition in these guidelines refers broadly to any site of visual or artistic material (including but not exclusively limited to arts festival, biennale, architectural or public space or site, gallery or museum exhibit etc.).

The assessment comprises two elements:
1) The presentation of 15 minutes (with 10% leeway either way), worth 30% of the overall mark.
The Presentation will enable students to present their case study of a contemporary or historical exhibition and discuss their plan for the essay. Students should identify the questions raised by their chosen exhibition that they will address in their essay, the research sources (texts, essays, journal articles etc.) identified with which the exhibition can be analysed and why they are appropriate and how the specific exhibition analysed enables issues of production, display and discourse to be discussed. As such, the presentation is designed to help students develop their essay, in which ideas discussed in the presentation are to be expanded and explored in more depth. Feedback on the presentation should be taken into consideration when writing an essay.

In the presentation, you are expected to discuss your ideas and initial findings, which will then be explored in more detail in the essay (building on the presentation feedback and further research).
