Controversies on Boundary Issues: Boundary crossings. Gloria is the counselor in an elementary school where the student population is 99% low-income status. The student’s parent, who knows Gloria is wealthy, approaches her and asks for $150.00 to get the family’s electricity turned back on. This has been a recurring problem for the family, and previous referrals to various agencies for assistance has not solved the problem. Gloria gives the requested $150.00 to have the power restored one more time.
