Standardized Testing of Students
Standardized testing of students to determine the effectiveness of curriculum, the competency of educators and to facilitate placement of studentts has become a hot button issue and an industry unto itself. Why does such a business flourish in a society that touts the supremacy of individual? What benefit, if any, do standardized tests offer test givers, test takers, and those who use the results to determine placement. Is there a political and/or economic gain and for whom?
