Context: The Research Analysis, also known as an “annotated bibliography” is the heart of your research paper. This is where you get to show your readers what you yourself have read and helps you to back up your opinions with research, when you write your final research paper.
Task: Summarize, assess and reflect on each text you will be consulting as discussed in your annotated bibliography study groups. Provide this information in a formal written document. YOU MUST PROVIDE A SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS FOR THREE ACADEMIC JOURNAL ARTICLES.
Criteria for Success — your assignment will have:
1. An introductory paragraph that explains what your topic is, why your group chose it and what you, yourself knew about it before you started your research.
2. A bibliographical entry for each academic journal article you read for the research paper you discussed in your proposal.
3. A summary of each article: In your summary you will answer these questions (Do not make a list: express this information in prose paragraphs.):
1. Why did you chose the article? Why were you interested in it? How did it help you meet the research goal for your paper?
2. What benefit would this article be for your classmates or other researchers?
3. Describe and evaluate the article. Briefly, what does it say? Why is it important for your research? What statements are you making in your paper, that will be backed up by the evidence found in this article?
4. What did you learn from reading the article? Provide at least three items and briefly describe them.
5. What questions do you still have that were not answered in the article? In other words, what is a potential path of inquiry you might follow after reading this article?
