You are expected to draw on the concepts covered in the unit, and the academic literature, in developing your thoughts and writing your individual report. Include a list of references at the end, and use a consistent method for citing references (e.g. Harvard system). Make sure to follow the lecture slides…. Your company has decided to submit a tender to bid for a project (note: a project scenario will be given to the class). As the procurement manager ofthe company, your
main responsibility is to develop a sustainability management to manage risks and opportunities associated with this project.
Your tasks are to Critically evaluate the project in terms of requirements for sustainability.
a. Critically evaluate the publically available business case. How would you present the business case to the decision maker for the project including significant strategic and sustainability aspects?
b. What procurement strategies might you consider which may enhance strategic and sustainability outcomes for the project? What are the pros and cons ofthe various procurement models and their fit for this project?
c. How would you design the specifications and tender documents to improve the tender to make it best practice in terms of sustainability? Consider economic, financial, social and environmental aspects.
cl. How would you prepare the contracts or what would you include in the
contracts to secure sustainability and strategic outcomes?
e. How would you design the contract administration and management regime to
ensure the sustainability outcomes were achieved?
f. What would you do in terms of monitoring, governance, audit and reporting on the
project, the tender and its outcomes?
When handing in assignments and reports the following considerations must be followed:
1. All pages are to be bound together, with an approved title page (must include student details e.g. name, student number etc).
2. Plagiarism statements are required – signed UC coversheet to be attached.
3. Students should make every effort to use examples to support claims.
