Choose any one of the following assignments and write the appropriate technical description- Make sure you preface your paper with a clear and complete
description of your audience and purpose- Your paper will be graded on organization, selection and arrangement of details, effective use of visual aids, style,
and mechanics- Review your class notes and Chapters 15 and 16 in your Dobrin text before beginning- Include at least two visual aids but remember that the
number and type of visual will depend on the nature of your description- Your purpose is to inform, not to sell-
A-Prepare a well-organized, detailed technical description for an object or system of your own choosing- What you choose, however, should have some
specific application; it should not be overly simplistic or too commonplace- Some possible topics are:
1- a soflware package 7- product X
2- a musical instrument 8- design y
3- a piece of lab equipment
4- a new structure or bridge
5- a technical design-
6- a special service your company offers
You will probably think of many others-
B-Prepare a well-organized, detailed technical description for a place of business, organism, or ailment of your own choosing- This topic is meant to be less
technical than selection A- Again, you will need two visual aids-
C-Invent an object or device that you wish to patent with the US. Patent Office- Your device should be of a technical nature- (You need not follow the
specifications outlined by the US. Patent Office- This is just my way of encouraging you to invent something new)-
