Topic: Wittgenstein’s influence on Stanley Hauerwas

These are the basic instructions for the paper:
By the end of the semester, you will have produced a research paper on a philosophical topic directly related to this course. In order to help you with that process,
you will required to produce a number of shorter components to the paper independently including a draft of the complete paper. You will also be required to meet with
me from time-to-time throughout the semester to discuss your progress. Overall, your term paper for this course will be graded by how well it meets the following
requirements: 1. A clearly stated thesis. (20%) 2. A clear account of a position and/or argument from one of the course readings. (20%) 3. A clear account of a
position and/or argument from an article or book directly related to one of the course readings (and approved by the instructor). (20%) 4. At least one clearly
identifiable argument in support of the thesis. (40%)

Here is my thesis statement:
Wittgenstein’s philosophy showed Hauerwas that philosophy was not primarily about theories but is therapeutic and that the a theologian’s work should be rooted in the
grammar of the language used by believers.

I have also attached a three page draft of the paper. This is a condensed version of how the overall paper needs to look as far as the content. I’m also attaching his
comments about the draft. The sources need to be “Ethics as Grammar: Changing the Postmodern Subject” by Brad J. Kallenberg as well as Wittgenstein’s “Tractatus
Logico-Philosophicus” and “Philosophical Investigations”
