Description Task Write a short essay (500-750 words) that uses all the following questions: – What is meant by the term “community”? – How do sociologists investigate community? – How would you conduct a sociological investigation of community? In your answer you should address each of the following: 1. demonstrate an understanding of one or two of the perspectives about community presented in the Required reading for topic 1 (what is community); 2. describe how community has been researched sociologically using the required readings for topic 2 (researching community); and 3. explain how you would conduct research about a community in terms of the perspectives you have presented. Make sure that you: • include an introduction • include a conclusion, and • that your responses to the questions flow (make sure the ideas link clearly) in essay format.
