Fight Club Reflection essays must be between 800 and 1000 words, and should be no more than two (2) printed pages in length. Students will receive a grade of 0, 1, or 2 for each reflection essay. Students are graded on their ability to demonstrate understanding of topics discussed in class and their ability to synthesize that information. Reflection essays will adhere to the following structure, separated into paragraphs:
1. Summary – general description of the assigned film’s plot/characters (approximately 20% of the reflection essay)
2. Themes – analysis of the major (and perhaps minor) themes addressed in the assigned film (~30%)
3. Reflection – discussion connecting the film to assigned readings, other films, and current events. This is the “heart” of each essay, and should demonstrate thoughtful analysis and insight (~50%)Please at least use one theme about alienation from society
