Finklestein, Whitehead and Campbell, Harvard Business Press, 2008.The second book must be Sources of Power: How people make decisions, Gary Klein, MIT Press. 1999.Klein argues that real life decision making is very different from the traditional models presented and/or critiqued in the books above (and in dozens, if not hundreds, of others).The paper — which covers all of your written responsibility for module one — is to (1) address the fundamental differences between decision making according to your first book choice and Klein and (2) come up with an example of decision and think through which approach appears more effective for that example (or if a combined approach is needed to get it right). The paper should be no longer than TEN pages. It is due at the end of module one.Don’t just reiterate the key positions of each — really think through the strengths and weaknesses of each.Don’t forget your personal example and applied discussion: you cannot earn an A without one. (This is an applications, not a theory, course.)
